Annaleigh Amanda Ashford is an American actress, dancer and singer. As a young actress, she appeared in Broadway roles, she played the role of Essie Carmichael in Wicked Legally Blonde Hair. For her role as Essie In You Can't Take It With You she was awarded the Tony Award. Annaleigh Ashley Tony Award winning actor and actress has collaborated with directors and actors in stage and on screen throughout her entire career. Ashford is set to next appear alongside Kumail in Robert Siegel's Hulu-exclusive program Welcome to Chippendales which premieres on November 22nd. Ashford's current film is Searchlight Pictures horror thriller Dust which he is starring in with Sarah Paulson and Ebonmoss-Bachrach. This film is a Hulu Original and will be streamed via Disney DTC. Ashford is set to appear opposite Josh Groban on Broadway's Lunt-Fontanne Theatre in the March 2023 production of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd. This production will be directed by Thomas Kail and produced by Jeffrey Seller, the team that created Hamilton. Ashford's most recent performance was Paula Jones on Ryan Murphy FX's American Crime Story Impeachment. The series is based on a National scandal that featured Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky, and Linda Tripp. Ashford was a part of two seasons in CBS hit comedy B Positive. It was developed by Marco Pennette and Chuck Lorre it also featured legendary actor Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo and Ben Vereen.No no stranger to Broadway Ashford won the Tony Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Awards for her role as Essie as Essie in You Can't Take It with You. Sunday in the Park with George Wicked legally blonde and the originating part of Lauren In Kinky Boots were among her other Broadway performances. Ashford lives in Los Angeles & New York.
